Welcome to VECOS. Please read these Terms of Service ("ToS") carefully before using our services. By accessing or using VECOS, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using VECOS services, you agree to comply with these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our services. Your use of VECOS constitutes your acceptance of these terms and your agreement to be bound by them.
2. Changes to the ToS
VECOS reserves the right to modify, update, or revise the ToS at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting on our website. It is your responsibility to regularly check the ToS. By continuing to use our services after such modifications, you accept the updated ToS. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through a prominent notice on our platform.
3. Use of Services
3.1 Eligibility
- Users under 16 years old must obtain parental consent to use VECOS services.
- All users, regardless of age, must create an account to access the services.
- You must be legally capable of entering into binding contracts in your jurisdiction.
3.2 User Account
- Some VECOS services require the creation of a user account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information, including your password.
- You agree to immediately notify VECOS of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
3.3 Account Security
- You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must use a strong, unique password and keep it confidential.
- You must not share your account credentials with third parties.
- You must log out from your account when using shared or public devices.
- VECOS is not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to maintain account security.
3.4 Authorized Use
- You agree to use our services in accordance with applicable laws and these ToS.
- You must not use our services for unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorized purposes.
- You must not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the platform or its systems.
4. User Content
4.1 Responsibility
- You are fully responsible for the content you upload, post, or share through our services (including but not limited to Practical Works (TPs), 3D models, scenes, and any other user-generated content).
- You warrant that you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to upload, post, or share such content.
- You represent and warrant that your content does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party.
4.2 User Content Rights
- You retain ownership of the content you create and upload to VECOS.
- By uploading content to VECOS, you grant VECOS a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Store, display, reproduce, and distribute your content on the platform
- Make your content available to other users according to your privacy settings
- Use your content for platform operation, maintenance, and improvement
- This license continues even after you deactivate your account, as your content may remain accessible (with "Anonymous User" attribution) after account anonymization.
4.3 Moderation
- VECOS reserves the right to moderate, review, delete, or reject any content that violates these ToS, applicable laws, or community standards.
- VECOS may remove content without prior notice if it is deemed inappropriate, illegal, or violates these terms.
- VECOS is not obligated to monitor all user content but may do so at its discretion.
4.4 Prohibited Content
You agree not to upload, post, or share content that:
- Violates any laws, regulations, or third-party rights
- Contains hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory content
- Contains sexually explicit, pornographic, or violent material
- Contains malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Infringes upon intellectual property rights
- Contains false or misleading information
- Violates the privacy or confidentiality of others
- Promotes illegal activities or harmful behavior
5. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
- Attempt to hack, breach security, or gain unauthorized access to the platform
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform's servers or networks
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the platform without authorization
- Spam, harass, or abuse other users
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Collect or harvest user information without consent
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the platform
- Use the platform to transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 VECOS Rights
- All intellectual property rights associated with VECOS, including but not limited to:
- Platform design, logos, trademarks, and branding
- Software code, algorithms, and technical infrastructure
- Documentation, tutorials, and educational content provided by VECOS
- All content created by VECOS
- Remain the exclusive property of VECOS and its licensors.
6.2 Limited License
- VECOS grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to:
- Access and use the platform for personal or educational purposes
- Create, upload, and share content in accordance with these ToS
- This license is subject to your compliance with these ToS and may be terminated at any time.
6.3 User Content License
- As detailed in Section 4.2, you grant VECOS a license to use your content for platform operation.
- You retain ownership of your original content but grant VECOS the necessary rights to operate the platform.
7. Limitation of Liability
7.1 Availability
- VECOS does not guarantee the continuous, uninterrupted, or secure availability of its services.
- Technical interruptions, maintenance, or updates may occur at any time.
- VECOS is not liable for any downtime, service interruptions, or technical issues.
7.2 Third-Party Content
- VECOS is not responsible for content provided by third parties linked to or integrated with our services.
- VECOS does not endorse or verify third-party content.
- You access third-party content at your own risk.
7.3 Disclaimers
- No Warranty: VECOS provides the platform "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy or completeness of content
- Use at Your Own Risk: You use VECOS services at your own risk. VECOS does not warrant that:
- The platform will meet your requirements
- The platform will be error-free or secure
- Defects will be corrected
- The platform is free from viruses or harmful components
7.4 Limitation of Damages
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, VECOS shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
- Loss or damage resulting from your use of or inability to use the platform
- Any damages exceeding the amount you paid to VECOS (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim
8. Privacy and Data Protection
8.1 Privacy Commitment
- VECOS is committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your personal data.

8.2 Data Retention
- VECOS retains your personal data for as long as necessary to provide services and comply with legal obligations.
- After account deactivation and anonymization, your personal data is deleted, but your created content (TPs and 3D models) may remain accessible with "Anonymous User" attribution.
8.3 Your Privacy Rights
- You have the right to access, rectify, delete, or port your personal data.
- You can exercise these rights through your account settings or by contacting us.

9. Termination
9.1 Termination by VECOS
- VECOS reserves the right to terminate or suspend your access to its services at any time, with or without cause or notice, for:
- Violation of these ToS
- Illegal activity
- Fraudulent or harmful behavior
- Any other reason deemed necessary by VECOS
9.2 Termination by User
- You may stop using VECOS services at any time.
- You may request account deactivation through your account settings (see Section 10).
9.3 Effect of Termination
- Upon termination, your right to access and use the platform immediately ceases.
- VECOS may delete or retain your account data in accordance with its Privacy Policy and legal obligations.
- Sections of these ToS that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
10. Account Deactivation and Anonymization
10.1 Deactivation Request
- You may request the deactivation of your account at any time through your account settings.
- Your request will be subject to administrative validation for security purposes.
- The maximum processing time for a deactivation request is 30 days.
- During this period, your account remains active until the request is processed.
10.2 Account Anonymization
Upon approval of your deactivation request, your account will be anonymized rather than completely deleted. This means:
- Personal Data Deletion:
- Your personal data (name, email, phone number, address, etc.) will be permanently deleted
- Your username will be replaced with anonymous_{userId}
- Your email will be replaced with anonymous_{userId}@anonymized.local
- Your password will be replaced with a random hash (making login impossible)
- Your profile images and avatars will be deleted
- Account Status:
- Your account will be marked as "Anonymous User"
- You will no longer be able to log in or access your account
- The account status will be set to disabled (etat = 0)
- Content Preservation:
- Your created content (Practical Works (TPs) and 3D models) will remain accessible
- Your content will display "Anonymous User" as the creator
- This anonymization preserves the integrity of the platform while respecting your right to data deletion
10.3 Data Preservation
- Your Practical Works (TPs) and 3D models created on VECOS will remain accessible to other users after account anonymization.
- This ensures continuity of educational resources and collaborative work within the platform.
- The anonymization process complies with GDPR requirements while maintaining platform functionality.
11. User Responsibilities
11.1 Compliance
- You are responsible for ensuring your use of VECOS complies with:
- These Terms of Service
- Applicable laws and regulations
- Third-party rights (including intellectual property and privacy rights)
11.2 Notification of Violations
- You must immediately notify VECOS if you become aware of:
- Any unauthorized use of your account
- Any security breach or vulnerability
- Any violation of these ToS by other users
- Any content that violates these terms or applicable laws
11.3 Cooperation
- You agree to cooperate with VECOS in any investigation of violations of these ToS.
- You agree to provide accurate information when requested by VECOS.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless VECOS, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your use of the platform
- Your violation of these ToS
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Your content or any content you transmit through the platform
13. Dispute Resolution
13.1 Applicable Law

VECOS shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance under these ToS resulting from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters
- War, terrorism, or civil unrest
- Government actions or regulations
- Internet or telecommunications failures
- Acts of third parties
- Pandemics or public health emergencies
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be replaced with a valid provision that most closely approximates the intent of the invalid provision.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with the Privacy Policy and any other legal notices published by VECOS, constitute the entire agreement between you and VECOS regarding your use of the platform and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
17. Waiver
No waiver of any term or condition of these ToS shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or any other term or condition. Any failure of VECOS to assert a right or provision under these ToS shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
18. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these ToS without VECOS's prior written consent. VECOS may assign or transfer these ToS, in whole or in part, without restriction.
